Abstract

An infinite, one-dimensional chelating ligand (α)/1[P3Se4/-] is present in K3RuP5Se10, which was obtained by the reaction of ruthenium with a molten mixture of nominal stoichiometry K3P6Se26.5 at 490°C. D3RuP5Se10 is the first structurally characterized ruthenium chalcophosphate, and features very short Ru·P bonds (2.288(2), 2.262(2) Å).
