Abstract

A carboxylate complex, [Ru(bpy)2(CO)(COO)], was prepared by the addition of CO2 to the doubly reduced species, [Ru1(bpy)(bpy-.)(CO)], in CH3CN. The IR and UV-vis spectra of [Ru(bpy)2(CO)(COO)] show a marked cation and solvent dependence. Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley and Sons, Ltd.
