Abstract
Poly(ethylenimine)-NaCF3SO3 complexes were formed with a polymer repeat unit to salt ratio ranging from 6:1 to 4:1. The complexes change from amorphous to crystalline as the salt concentration is increased. The glass transition temperatures of the amorphous complexes are approximately 15°C lower than that of the crystalline 4:1 complex. The conductivities of the amorphous complexes are significantly higher than that of the crystalline material. The conductivity plots of all of the complexes follow nearly linear Arrhenius type behavior over the temperature range studied.
