Crystal growth and co-substitution in (Mg1-xFex)(Mo2-xVx)O7 (0.13≤x≤0.47) with (V/Mo)=O oxo double bonds

Abstract

The solid solution crystals of Mg1-xFexMo2-xVxO7 (0.13≤x≤0.47) grown from MgO-Fe2O3-V2O5-MoO3 melts were discussed. Its structure was analyzed by x-ray single crystal diffraction and the results were compared with FeVMoO7 and MgMo2O7. It was found that the structure contains (V/Mo)=O oxo double bonds similar to MgMo2O7 and FeVMoO7.
