Abstract
The electrical conductivity and thermopower of Mn//3O//4 were measured in the temperature range 920 degree to 1530 degree C. Electrical conduction in cubic Mn//3O//4 is explained by the small polaron hopping of electron holes between Mn**4** plus and Mn**3** plus on octahedral sites. The concentrations of Mn**4** plus and Mn**3** plus are governed by the disproportionation equilibrium 2Mn//o//c//t**3** plus reversible reaction Mn//o//c//t**4** plus plus Mn//o//c//t**2** plus . This model also explains the electrical behavior of NiMn//2O//4 and CuMn//2O//4.
