Abstract
The phase-and-polarization coherent control, which was applied to control the nonlinear response of a quantum system was discussed. It was used to obtain high-resolution background-free single-pulse coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectra. Analysis showed that this form of single-pulse Raman spectroscopy was a demonstration of the capabilities and promise of this new pulse shaping technique.
