Abstract

Full title: Photochemical hydrogenolysis of the phosphorus-cyclopentadienyl bond of (CO)4MnMo(CO)35-C5H 4P(C6H4-p-CH3)2] and formation of the phosphido-bridged metal hydride complex (CO)4Mn[μ-P(C6H4-p-CH3) 2](μ-H)Mo(CO)2(C5H5). The photolysis of (CO)4MnMo(CO)35-C5H 4P(C6H4-p-CH3)2], 1, under 1 atm of H2 results in the formation of (CO)4Mn[μ-P(C6H4-p-CH3) 2](μ-H)Mo(CO)2(C5H5), 2. Deprotonation of 2 by KOH gives (CO)4Mn[μ-P(C6H4-p-CH3) 2]Mo(CO)2(C5H5)-, 3.
