Piezoelectricity in polar supramolecular materials

Abstract

Units with large effective dipole moments are suggested to explain the observation of spontaneous piezoelectric behavior in polar self-assembled films comprised of clusters formed by rod-coil molecules. The piezoelectric response of heated films remains upon cooling.
