Abstract

Liquid/liquid Phase Transfer Catalysis (PTC) reaction of 4-chlorobutyronitrile with nonenolisable aldehydes leads via an addition-cyclisation reaction sequence to derivatives of tetrahydrofuran-3-carbonitrile.
