Solvation dynamics in unimolecular polymeric micelles

Abstract

Coumarin 102 (C102) was encapsulated into Core(hex). The solvation dynamics of C102 in the polymer solution was followed. It was observed the C102 has slow solvation dynamics in comparison to bulk water or other simple organic solvents. However, the rotational dynamics of C102 were found to be very fast and similar to other simple solvents. This anomalous behavior was attributed to the nature of the polymeric micelle one.
