Abstract

Flux-grown Ca2Mn3O8 is monoclinic, space group C2/m with a 11.014(4), b 5.851(3), c 4.942(2) A, beta 109.73(5)o; Z = 2. This is the first example (in an oxide) of Ca2+ in trigonal prismatic coordination. -J.E.C.
