Templated and hierarchical assembly of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots

Abstract

The localized emission from individual quantum-dot structures using near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) was analyzed. It was demonstrated that templates in photoresist, generated by phase-shifting photolithography (PSP) through composite poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) masks, can assemble optically functional nanomaterials in 2D. The soft templates were found to have critical feature sizes of 100 nm. The results show that patterned CdSe mesostructures with increased packing densities can provide insight for investigations of long-range interactions in mixed quantum dot solids.
